- Publisher Fergo, hence by descent in the family. The sofa was designed 17 February 1927 as part of the furnishing for a library room for Fergo. It consisted of a pair of easy chairs with an adjustable back, the present sofa, a pair of book cabinets with doors made of metal mesh and a low table with rounded corners.
- The library room furniture was presented at the annual Spring Exhibition at Charlottenborg in 1927. The pair of chairs today form part of the collection of Design Museum Danmark. The cabinets remain with the Fergo family. The sofa belongs among the very first pieces of furniture that Arne Jacobsen designed. They demonstrate that even with Arne Jacobsen, a furniture designer generally associated with organic industrial modernism, the baggage of craftsmanship and English tradition of Kaare Klint is present. Arne Jacobsen studied with Kaare Klint for a period during his time at the Royal Academy.
