Hans-Agne Jakobsson floor lamp
This very rare floor lamp, model G-81, designed by Hans-Agne Jakobsson and produced by Hans-Agne Jakobsson AB in Markaryd, Sweden during the 1950s, is a striking example of mid-century Scandinavian lighting design.
The lamp features a cylindrical shade made up of stacked white lacquered metal rings, creating a unique layered effect that emits light in soft horizontal bands. This design not only serves an aesthetic purpose but also ensures a warm, indirect glow ideal for creating atmospheric lighting. The brass stem and circular brass base provide both stability and a sophisticated contrast to the white shade, while a brass finial with a circular loop crowns the piece, blending decoration with functionality.
Hans-Agne Jakobsson was renowned for his mastery in manipulating light and material to shape inviting interiors, and this lamp is a refined representation of his work.
