Sten Blomberg easy chair
This rare easy chair was designed by Sten Blomberg and produced by Knut Lindquist in Stockholm, Sweden, during the 1940s. It features a frame in dark-stained beech with a sculptural silhouette, including a tall, curved wingback, rolled armrests, and gently splayed rear legs. The chair retains its original patterned upholstery, a dense floral jacquard in muted teal with peach, beige, and green accents, characteristic of mid-century Scandinavian textile design.
The construction showcases the Swedish approach to comfort and craftsmanship of the period, with a solid beech structure providing stability and a generous seat depth for a relaxed posture. The fabric, while showing signs of wear, reflects its age and authenticity, contributing to the piece’s historical value.
It is in good vintage condition, with signs of usage and a natural patina to the wood, along with expected wear to the upholstery. This combination of original materials and craftsmanship makes it a notable example of mid-century Scandinavian seating design.
Dimensions: width 72 cm (28.3 in), depth 85 cm (33.5 in), height 108 cm (42.5 in), seat height 40 cm (15.7 in).
