Information

This rare pair of easy chairs, model FD-136, was designed by Finn Juhl and produced by France & Son in Denmark in 1956. Crafted from solid teak, the frames showcase a warm, rich patina developed over time, highlighting Juhl’s organic and sculptural approach. The elegantly curved armrests and tapered legs contribute to the chairs’ refined aesthetic and structural grace.

The seats and backrests are upholstered in Gabriel Savak plain fabric, a design by Tove Kindt-Larsen, in a neutral off-white tone that harmonizes beautifully with the teak wood. The gently curved backrest is attached at a floating angle, a hallmark of Juhl’s design that imparts a sense of lightness and balance, while enhancing comfort.

Finn Juhl (1912–1989) was a seminal figure in Danish modernism, celebrated for his fluid, sculptural furniture forms that elevated Danish design on the international stage.
