Side tables

This is a rare pair of side tables or benches produced by Alberts in Tibro, Sweden, during the 1960s. The tables are constructed from solid rosewood, displaying the characteristic deep reddish-brown tones and striking grain patterns of the material. The slatted top design contributes to both structural integrity and visual rhythm, allowing for natural expansion and contraction of the wood while maintaining an airy aesthetic.

The tables have a minimalistic yet functional form, consistent with the Scandinavian modern movement, which emphasized craftsmanship, high-quality materials, and clean lines. The legs are slightly tapered, lending a refined and balanced proportion to the overall design. The warm patina and rich coloration of the wood highlight the natural beauty of the rosewood, which was a highly prized material during the mid-century period.

Alberts, a Swedish furniture manufacturer, was known for producing high-quality wooden furniture with a focus on durable craftsmanship and modernist design principles. 

Each table measures 55.5 cm in width, 37 cm in depth, and 31 cm in height (21.9 x 14.6 x 12.2 inches), with a seat height of 31 cm (12.2 inches), making them versatile for use as small side tables, benches, or even display surfaces in a variety of interior settings.
