Information

This rare floor lamp, model 325, designed by Vilhelm Wohlert and produced by Le Klint in Denmark in 1957, is a prime example of mid-century Scandinavian modern design. The lamp combines functionality with refined materiality and a minimalist aesthetic, showcasing the principles of the era’s design philosophy.

The lamp features a vertical teak wood support with an extended horizontal arm, allowing for adjustable positioning of the pleated lampshade. The counterbalanced arm ends in a rounded wooden detail, emphasizing the simplicity of the design while maintaining a sense of visual balance. The base is made of black lacquered metal, which provides stability and contrasts with the warm tones of the teak, further highlighting the lamp’s elegant, understated design. The pleated lampshade, a signature element of Le Klint designs, softly diffuses light and maintains a crisp, geometric form that is both functional and visually striking.

Vilhelm Wohlert (1920–2007), a Danish architect and designer, was known for his work in modernist architecture and lighting design. His designs focused on clean lines, natural materials, and a deep understanding of functional aesthetics. Wohlert’s collaboration with Le Klint, a Danish lighting manufacturer renowned for its precision-crafted pleated lampshades, produced timeless designs that blend form with function.

Le Klint, founded in 1943, is celebrated for its craftsmanship in pleated paper and fabric lampshades. Their collaboration with renowned designers like Wohlert has resulted in lighting fixtures that remain highly sought after for their elegant yet practical design.

This lamp remains in original condition, with visible patina on the brass fittings and minor signs of wear on the teak structure, adding to its authenticity and vintage appeal.

The dimensions of the lamp are 151 cm (59.4 inches) in height, 87 cm (34.3 inches) in depth, and 42 cm (16.5 inches) in width, making it a striking and functional addition to any interior.
