Information

Bowl in pewter designed by Edvin Ollers and produced by Schreuder & Olsson in Stockholm, Sweden, 1968. This piece is a refined example of postwar Scandinavian design, characterized by its minimalist form, material integrity, and balanced proportions.

The bowl has an asymmetrical, organic shape with a softly curved rim that creates a dynamic profile from different angles. It rests on a small circular base that lifts the form slightly above the surface, enhancing its sculptural presence. The surface of the pewter is finely brushed, giving a subdued matte sheen that emphasizes the smooth contours and gentle transitions between curves. The underside is stamped with the maker’s mark “GJUTET TENN” the producer’s name, and the production year (S9 = 1968).

Edvin Ollers (1888–1959) was a Swedish designer and painter known for his work across several media, including glass, metal, and ceramics. His design language combined functionalist clarity with sculptural sensitivity, and his pewter works often embody a restrained elegance typical of Swedish Modern aesthetics. Schreuder & Olsson was among the respected Swedish pewter manufacturers, known for high-quality craftsmanship and clean, modern lines.

This example remains in excellent condition with minimal surface wear. The pewter retains a consistent tone and fine patina, reflecting careful preservation and limited use over time.

Dimensions: 21.5 cm x 18 cm x 7 cm (8.5 x 7.1 x 2.8 inches).
