Erik Höglund candlesticks
This pair of candlesticks was designed by Erik Höglund and produced by Boda Trä in Sweden during the 1950s. Crafted from solid teak, the candlesticks showcase Höglund’s mastery in woodworking, combining sculptural form with traditional craftsmanship.
Each candlestick features a central turned column topped with a rounded finial, surrounded by four symmetrically arranged arms with cup-shaped candle holders. The design balances bulbous and tapered shapes, creating a rhythmic and organic silhouette. The natural teak grain and warm tones are prominent, enhancing the tactile and visual appeal.
Both pieces bear the original Boda Trä mark and Höglund’s signature, confirming their authenticity. The condition is good with minor age-appropriate wear consistent with vintage wooden objects.
Dimensions: One candlestick measures 20 cm in width, 20 cm in depth, and 25 cm in height (7.9 x 7.9 x 9.8 inches), while the other measures 16.5 cm in width, 16.5 cm in depth, and 25.5 cm in height (6.5 x 6.5 x 10 inches).
