Information

This rare set of armchairs, model 30, was designed by Hans Olsen and produced by CS Møbler in Denmark during the 1960s. Crafted from solid rosewood, the chairs showcase a deep, rich grain that highlights the sculptural elegance of the design. The gently curved backrest flows seamlessly into the armrests, creating a continuous, organic form that balances aesthetics with comfort.

The original black leather seat cushions remain intact, providing a smooth, durable surface that contrasts subtly with the dark wood. The seat is slightly recessed to follow the ergonomic contours of the frame. The construction is marked by precise joinery and a harmonious blend of curved and linear elements, reflecting Olsen’s expertise in proportion and craftsmanship.

Hans Olsen (1919–1992) was a Danish designer celebrated for his innovative yet understated furniture, characterized by rounded edges and organic forms consistent with mid-century Scandinavian modernism. CS Møbler, known for high-quality wood craftsmanship, produced many of his designs, maintaining excellent standards in materials and detail.

Each chair measures 59.5 cm in width, 51 cm in depth, and 72.5 cm in height (23.4 x 20.1 x 28.5 inches), with a seat height of 41 cm (16.1 inches).
