Information

This rare bar cabinet, model 63, was designed by Danish furniture designer Helge Vestergaard Jensen and produced by Jason Møbler in Denmark during the 1950s. Vestergaard Jensen was known for his refined, architectural approach to furniture, often combining functionalist principles with elegant detailing and high-quality craftsmanship. His work is characterized by clean lines, well-proportioned forms, and meticulous attention to materiality — all qualities visible in this piece.

The cabinet is constructed from richly grained rosewood, showcasing a deep, warm tone and striking natural patterning across the doors and frame. The interior reveals a contrasting, bold red lacquer finish with multiple compartments and shelves designed for storage and display of glassware and bottles, while the exterior’s minimalist silhouette rests on slender, tapered legs that elevate the piece and lend it a light visual presence. The top is finished with black Formica, offering a practical, durable surface for preparing and serving drinks.

This model captures the essence of Scandinavian mid-century design — a balance of functionality and understated luxury — and remains a rare example of Jensen’s work for Jason Møbler. The cabinet is in excellent vintage condition with only minor signs of wear consistent with age.

Dimensions are 86 cm wide, 39 cm deep, and 108.5 cm high (33.9 x 15.4 x 42.7 in)
