Information

This rare coffee table was designed by Danish designer Nanna Ditzel and produced by Poul Kolds Savværk in the 1950s. Executed in rosewood, the table features a warm reddish-brown tone with dark expressive grain patterns, characteristic of the species. The design is defined by a rectangular top with softly rounded corners and a lower shelf supported by sculptural V-shaped legs, offering both visual balance and structural integrity. The craftsmanship demonstrates the precision and organic sensibility typical of Danish modern furniture.

Nanna Ditzel (1923–2005) was one of the leading figures of Danish modern design, celebrated for her experimental and fluid approach to furniture and object design. Educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts under Kaare Klint, she developed a distinctive language that combined technical rigor with sculptural softness. Her work often explored new construction methods and forms that merged functionality with elegance.

Produced by Poul Kolds Savværk, a respected Danish workshop known for its fine woodworking and collaborations with prominent designers of the mid-20th century, this table exemplifies the harmony between craftsmanship and modernist aesthetics. The piece has been completely restored and remains in excellent vintage condition, with minor traces of age consistent with careful use.
