Nils Jonsson flower table
This rare flower table was designed by Nils Jonsson and produced by Troeds in Sweden during the 1960s. It is crafted in rosewood with a warm, expressive grain and features a copper insert box intended for floral arrangements or small plant displays. The frame rests on cylindrical steel legs, which provide an elegant contrast to the richness of the rosewood, giving the table a light and architectural appearance.
The design is a fine example of Scandinavian modernism, where function and refined craftsmanship meet in a restrained, geometric form. The horizontal slatted construction of the frame emphasizes linearity and allows the copper insert to sit recessed within the structure. The combination of natural materials—rosewood, copper, and steel—creates a textural and tonal interplay typical of mid-century Swedish furniture design.
The piece is presented in good vintage condition, with small signs of use and a naturally developed patina on the copper, which adds depth and authenticity to the surface. The steel legs show light aging consistent with its period, contributing to its original character.
Dimensions are 78 cm in width, 38 cm in depth, and 32 cm in height, corresponding to approximately 30.7 x 15 x 12.6 inches.
