Ole Wanscher cabinet
Very rare cabinet designed by Ole Wanscher and masterfully crafted by the celebrated cabinetmaker A.J. Iversen in Denmark. Executed in richly grained rosewood with refined ebony details and discreet brass accents, this piece embodies the sophisticated restraint and impeccable craftsmanship that characterise Wanscher’s early work.
Designed in 1948, the cabinet displays a harmonious balance of proportions, with clean architectural lines softened by the natural warmth of the wood. The two front doors open to reveal a thoughtfully arranged interior, while the lower drawers — fitted with elegant brass pulls — provide additional storage. Subtle brass shoes at the base of the legs add a final touch of refinement, underscoring the meticulous attention to detail for which both Wanscher and Iversen are renowned.
The cabinet remains in good vintage condition with small signs of use, consistent with age. A rare and highly collectible example of mid-century Danish furniture, combining sculptural presence with exceptional craftsmanship.
