Willy Rizzo dining chairs
This is a rare set of six dining chairs designed and produced by Willy Rizzo in Italy during the 1970s. The chairs feature a minimalist and architectural frame in polished stainless steel, newly reupholstered in a soft cream velvet fabric. The design is emblematic of Rizzo’s refined modernist aesthetic, combining geometric precision with luxurious materials.
Each chair has a rectilinear frame with a continuous steel outline that defines both seat and backrest. The back is slightly curved to provide ergonomic comfort, and the upholstered surfaces create a subtle contrast with the reflective metal structure. The construction highlights Rizzo’s characteristic fusion of modern glamour and functional rigor, a style developed in his furniture designs parallel to his career as a renowned photographer and designer for high-end interiors.
This set remains in excellent restored condition, with only minimal traces of age to the metal surfaces. The chairs are structurally sound and newly upholstered to high standards.
Dimensions are 48 cm wide, 48 cm deep, and 77 cm high, with a seat height of 47 cm (18.9 x 18.9 x 30.3 in, seat height 18.5 in). A matching dining table designed by Willy Rizzo is also available.
