Information

This rare bureau, attributed to Arne Vodder and produced by N.C. Møbler in Denmark during the 1950s, is a distinctive example of Scandinavian mid-century modern design. Crafted from teak, it features a warm, natural wood tone that beautifully contrasts with the deep blue lacquered drawer fronts. The drawers are decorated with elongated, curved cutouts, creating a striking geometric pattern that adds visual interest while maintaining a refined elegance.

The bureau rests on cylindrical steel legs capped with teak, combining industrial and organic materials in a balanced way. It offers five spacious drawers designed for practical storage without compromising the streamlined and minimalist silhouette. The high craftsmanship is evident in the precise joinery and choice of quality materials, reflecting the standards upheld by N.C. Møbler, a well-regarded Danish manufacturer known for producing furniture in collaboration with leading designers.

Arne Vodder, celebrated for his organic forms, subtle detailing, and use of fine materials, played a significant role in the international recognition of Scandinavian design. This bureau exemplifies his approach to combining function with refined simplicity.

The bureau measures 84 cm in width, 45 cm in depth, and 96 cm in height (33.1 x 17.7 x 37.8 inches). It is in well-preserved condition with minor signs of age-appropriate wear, retaining the original patina and character of its materials.
