Josef Frank cabinet
This very rare cabinet, attributed to Josef Frank and produced by Svenskt Tenn in Sweden during the 1950s, is a distinguished example of Scandinavian mid-century design, blending functionality with elegant craftsmanship.
The piece features a solid mahogany base supported by tapered legs, each finished with brass feet that add both stability and subtle decorative detail. Above, a glass display case framed in solid brass encloses five adjustable glass shelves, offering flexible storage and an ideal setting for exhibiting collectibles or decorative objects. The brass framework has developed a warm, natural patina over time, enhancing its vintage appeal. The mirrored back panel inside the display case amplifies light and depth, enriching the visual experience.
Josef Frank, an Austrian-Swedish architect and designer, was renowned for his humanistic and timeless approach to modernism. His collaboration with Svenskt Tenn resulted in furniture characterized by a harmonious balance of classic elegance and modern practicality.
