Information

This exceptionally long and rare bench — or side table — was designed by Kurt Østervig and produced by Jason Møbler in Denmark during the mid-20th century. A striking example of Scandinavian modernism, the piece embodies the refined minimalism and material honesty that define Østervig’s design language.

The bench features a sleek black Formica top framed by solid teak edges, creating a beautiful tension between the natural warmth of wood and the cool, utilitarian surface. The top rests on an elegant black-lacquered metal frame with slender, angular legs, providing both visual lightness and structural stability. The result is a piece that feels architectural in its proportions yet subtle enough to blend seamlessly into a variety of interiors.

Its elongated form — stretching an impressive 360 cm — gives it remarkable versatility. It can serve as a bench, display table, or architectural element along a wall or window. The patina developed over time on both metal and wood enhances its authentic mid-century character.

In excellent vintage condition, with minor wear and signs of age that add to its depth and charm.

Dimensions are 360 cm wide, 40 cm deep, and 48.5 cm high, with a seat height of 48.5 cm (141.7 x 15.7 x 19.1 in, SH 19.1 in)
