This is a rare example of the Trienna sofa model, designed by Carl-Gustaf Hiort af Ornäs and produced in Finland during the mid-20th century. The sofa exemplifies the clean-lined, functionally driven principles of Finnish modernist design. The frame is constructed from solid elm, displaying a warm golden-brown tone that has aged to a rich patina. One of the defining features of the piece is its finely crafted backrest, characterized by a woven wood structure that highlights the attention to joinery and the architectural approach typical of Hiort af Ornäs’ work.
