Torbjørn Afdal Krobo bench

This piece is a bench and side table combination, model Krobo, designed by Norwegian designer Torbjørn Afdal in the 1960s. It is produced by Mellemstrands Møbelfabrik under the Bruksbo label, a well-known Norwegian furniture producer recognized for high-quality craftsmanship and functional modernist designs. The construction is in richly grained rosewood, which gives the piece a warm, deep brown tone with striking natural variations in lighter and darker patterns. The surface shows an expressive rosewood grain, a hallmark of Scandinavian mid-century furniture that adds visual interest while maintaining a clean, understated profile.

The design is highly functional and minimalist, with a long, low bench surface supported by solid legs and metal supports, combined with a modular box element positioned to one side.
