Floor lamp

This rare floor lamp, produced in Sweden by an unknown designer, showcases an elegant synthesis of natural materials and industrial elements characteristic of Scandinavian design from the mid-20th century. The lamp comprises a circular metal base finished in aged lacquer, showing visible patina and surface wear that contribute to its vintage authenticity. The stem rises from the base in a gentle, arching curve and is fully wrapped in cane. This cane wrapping not only adds visual warmth and texture but also introduces a tactile contrast to the cooler metallic elements of the structure.

The arc of the stem is both functional and sculptural, guiding the light source outward and creating a defined yet delicate silhouette. The cane is aged but intact, with minor imperfections and tonal variation that reflect the material’s natural origin and prolonged use.

At the top of the stem is a newly added lampshade, crafted in a soft neutral fabric. The shade features a scalloped lower edge that introduces a subtle decorative quality without overpowering the design. While the lampshade is a modern replacement, it is sensitively chosen to match the aesthetic language of the original lamp. Overall, the lamp is in good condition. The base shows wear consistent with age, and the cane covering has a few natural irregularities, both of which enhance the character of the piece.
