- Interior design company Futurum:
Futurum was one of the interior design companies founded in the wake of the Stockholm Exhibition in 1930.
The company was founded in 1934 by Margareta Köhler and Marie-Louise Idestam-Blomberg. The interior design philosophy was in line with the ideas presented at the Stockholm exhibition, the furniture would be adapted to the client's needs and be functional. Margareta Köhler designed most of the company's furniture. They strived to create a whole in the interiors they created, so Futurum also provided other things for the home, such as utensils, fabrics, carpets and lamps, both self-produced and by other manufacturers. In 1941, Futurum was closed down. Despite good reviews and good grades, they had a hard time making the business financially sustainable.
