Alf Svensson sideboard

A refined and beautifully balanced sideboard with integrated bookcase designed by Alf Svensson and produced by Bjästa in Sweden during the 1950s. Executed in richly grained teak with sliding doors in woven cane, the design achieves a rare equilibrium between natural warmth and architectural precision.

The upper section consists of open adjustable shelving, designed to hold books or display objects with a sense of lightness and order. Below, the cabinet base offers enclosed storage behind finely woven cane doors—a tactile counterpoint to the smooth teak surfaces.
