Alf Svensson & Yngvar Sandström floor lamp
This floor lamp, model G-024, was designed by Alf Svensson and Yngvar Sandström and produced by Bergboms in Sweden during the 1950s. The lamp features a slender brass stem and a trumpet-shaped base, giving it a balanced and elegant profile. Its proportions reflect the Scandinavian approach to lighting design of the period — functional, understated, and crafted with attention to detail.
The lamp retains its original cylindrical lampshade, which provides a warm and diffused light. The brass surfaces display a natural patina consistent with age, adding character without compromising the lamp’s refined appearance. The lamp is equipped with a pull switch located just below the socket, a subtle and practical detail typical of Bergboms production.
Alf Svensson and Yngvar Sandström were key figures in mid-century Swedish design, known for their collaborative work that merged sculptural elements with everyday usability. Bergboms was one of Sweden’s most respected lighting manufacturers of the period, producing designs that are now considered classics of Scandinavian modernism.
Dimensions: 46 cm in diameter and 148 cm in height (18.1 x 58.3 inches). The lamp is in good vintage condition with small signs of usage, maintaining its original character and functionality.
