This rare pair of Model 31 easy chairs, designed by Alvar Aalto and produced by O.y. Huonekalu-ja Rakennustyötehdas in Finland during the 1940s, is an iconic example of mid-century Scandinavian modern design. Constructed from laminated and molded birch, a material chosen for its strength, flexibility, and unique grain pattern, the chairs reflect Aalto’s innovative use of materials.
