Arne Jacobsen dining chairs
This set consists of four dining chairs model 3107 and two armchairs model 3207, designed by Arne Jacobsen and produced by Fritz Hansen in Denmark. These iconic chairs are crafted from molded rosewood veneer, which displays a deep, rich grain pattern that gives each piece a unique character. The shells have been carefully restored, highlighting the natural warmth and subtle sheen of the wood while retaining light signs of usage that testify to their age.
The chair’s organic form is supported by four slender chromed steel legs, which contribute to the light, floating appearance of the design. The armchairs include elegantly curved wooden armrests mounted on tubular steel supports, providing additional comfort and visual balance. Both models are fully stackable, showcasing Jacobsen’s dedication to functionality and space efficiency.
Designed in 1955, the Series 7 is one of the most celebrated chair designs of the 20th century and remains a cornerstone of Scandinavian modernism. Jacobsen’s use of innovative plywood molding techniques allowed for a single, continuous seat and backrest, creating a chair that is both sculptural and practical. Produced by Fritz Hansen, these chairs are part of an enduring legacy of Danish craftsmanship and industrial design.
The armchairs measure 61.5 cm in width, 50 cm in depth, and 77 cm in height, with a seat height of 43 cm (approximately 24.2 x 19.7 x 30.3 inches, SH: 16.9 inches). The side chairs measure 46 cm in width, 48 cm in depth, and 78 cm in height, also with a seat height of 43 cm (approximately 18.1 x 18.9 x 30.7 inches, SH: 16.9 inches). They are in good vintage condition, with light patina on the metal frames and restored wooden surfaces, making them ready for continued use.
