Bergboms floor lamps
This very rare pair of uplight floor lamps, model G-07, was produced by Bergboms in Sweden during the 1950s. They embody the minimalist elegance and material refinement characteristic of Scandinavian lighting design from the mid-century period.
Each lamp features a conical reflector made from polished brass, which tapers gracefully into a slender brass stem. The inner part of the shade incorporates glass, softening the reflected light to produce a warm and ambient illumination. The shade’s geometric form emphasizes verticality and balance, with the cone shape narrowing downward into the brass rod. The brass surfaces maintain a smooth, high-polish finish with natural patina indicative of age, while retaining a rich reflective quality. The base is finished in cream lacquered metal and remains in good vintage condition, showing minor wear consistent with age and use.
Bergboms was a notable Swedish lighting manufacturer active in the mid-20th century, recognized for its collaborations with prominent designers and dedication to high-quality craftsmanship. The company played a significant role in shaping the aesthetic of Scandinavian modern lighting, focusing on brass and glass as primary materials and favoring clean, expressive forms.
The G-07 model is particularly scarce and represents the elegant restraint and sculptural presence that define 1950s Nordic modernism. These lamps are as much collectible design objects as functional lighting solutions.
The dimensions are 25 cm in diameter and 142 cm in height, approximately 9.8 inches in diameter and 55.9 inches tall.
