Carl-Axel Acking cabinet
Rare cabinet designed by Carl-Axel Acking and produced by Bodafors in Sweden during the 1940s. This piece is crafted from mahogany and walnut, with brass hardware that adds a subtle decorative element. The cabinet stands on a finely constructed base with elegant cross-bracing, reflecting Acking’s architectural approach to furniture design.
The front is composed of two large doors featuring a refined, symmetrical veneer pattern that highlights the natural grain of the wood. Behind the doors, multiple adjustable shelves provide versatile storage, making it suitable for dining, office, or living spaces. Below the cabinet section are two slim drawers integrated into the stretcher frame, offering additional storage for smaller items.
This example is in excellent vintage condition, with only minor signs of wear and a rich, warm patina that emphasizes the depth of the mahogany and walnut surfaces. The craftsmanship demonstrates the high quality of Swedish cabinetmaking of the period, combining function with sculptural refinement.
