Ernst Kühn bedside tables
This rare pair of freestanding bedside or side tables is attributed to Ernst Kühn and was produced by the Danish cabinetmaker Lysberg, Hansen & Therp during the 1950s. Crafted from richly grained rosewood, the tables exhibit a deep, warm patina that highlights the natural beauty and texture of the wood. Each table features two small drawers, fitted with round brass ring handles that provide a subtle yet elegant contrast to the dark wood tones.
The slender, tapering legs create an elegant and balanced profile, while a lower shelf offers practical additional storage or display space. The construction demonstrates precise craftsmanship, with finely joined corners and a seamless integration of materials, reflecting the high standards of Danish cabinetmaking during this period.
Lysberg, Hansen & Therp, based in Copenhagen, were known for producing high-quality furniture, often custom or limited-run pieces, for discerning clients. Their work is distinguished by careful material selection and meticulous execution, positioning these tables as refined examples of mid-century Danish design.
The tables measure 55 centimeters in width, 38 centimeters in depth, and 57 centimeters in height, presenting a compact and functional form suitable for various interior settings.
