Information

This rare pair of easy chairs, model FD-136, was designed by Finn Juhl in 1956 and produced by France & Daverkosen in Denmark. The chairs exemplify Juhl’s organic modernist style, featuring sculptural teak frames with gently curved armrests and tapered legs. The teak’s warm tones and refined craftsmanship highlight the natural beauty of the wood.

The backrest and seat are upholstered in a neutral gray Kvadrat™ wool fabric, newly reupholstered to preserve comfort and structure while complementing the teak’s warmth. The chairs are ergonomically designed with a slight recline and generous proportions to enhance relaxation, reflecting Juhl’s focus on both form and function.

France & Daverkosen was a significant manufacturer in the Danish modern movement, renowned for quality craftsmanship and collaborations with top designers like Juhl, helping establish Denmark’s reputation in global furniture design.

The teak frames are in excellent vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age, maintaining the integrity and elegance typical of Scandinavian modernism.
