Floor lamp

This rare Swedish Modern floor lamp is a refined example of mid-century Scandinavian lighting, combining a slender architectural silhouette with highly functional adjustability. Produced in Sweden, the lamp is executed almost entirely in brass, whose naturally aged surface gives the piece a warm, characterful appearance.

The design is built around a tall cylindrical stem rising from a broad, low circular base. At the top, the structure divides into two gracefully curved brass arms.

Each arm terminates in an articulated fitting, allowing the shades to be tilted and directed individually. The two lamps can therefore function as focused reading lights or be angled outward to provide broader ambient illumination. Small individual switches positioned at the lamp heads provide independent control of each light.

The height is also adjustable, extending from approximately 125 to 165 cm (49.21–64.96 in), allowing the proportions and direction of the lighting to be adapted to different interiors. The newly made tapered shades are covered in a subtle white textile and measure 20 cm (7.87 in) in diameter and 23 cm (9.06 in) in height. Their restrained appearance complements the aged brass without distracting from the elegant curved construction.

The brass has developed an attractive, uneven patina throughout, with oxidation, darkened areas, spotting and surface wear consistent with age and use. These traces are particularly visible on the base, central stem, arms and fittings and contribute to the lamp’s authentic vintage character. The new shades are in very good condition.

Overall, the lamp remains in good vintage condition with signs of usage and patina.
