Hans Olsen easy chairs
This rare pair of easy chairs, model 9015, was designed by Hans Olsen and produced by Gärsnäs in Sweden during the 1960s. The chairs are constructed in oak and teak, with armrests in sculpted teak that contrast elegantly against the oak frame. The seats and backs are upholstered in suede, a choice that emphasizes the tactile and warm qualities of Scandinavian modern design.
The design displays Olsen’s refined sense of proportion and craftsmanship. The angled backrest and gently sloping seat provide both comfort and visual lightness, while the exposed wooden frame highlights the natural materials. The sculpted armrests in teak stand out as a distinctive detail, combining function and elegance.
These chairs exemplify mid-century Scandinavian aesthetics, with a focus on simplicity, functionality, and quality craftsmanship. They remain in good vintage condition with signs of use consistent with age, offering an authentic patina.
