Helge Sibast & Børge Rammeskov dining chairs
This rare set of eight dining chairs, model 465, was designed by Helge Sibast and Børge Rammeskov and produced by Sibast Møbelfabrik in Denmark in 1962. The chairs are crafted from solid rosewood, showcasing deep color variations and expressive grain patterns characteristic of the material. The design features a sculpted, curved backrest with metal fittings, giving the chairs a refined and structural appearance. The seat has been reupholstered in Gabriel Savak plain fabric, designed by Tove Kindt Larsen, offering a soft contrast to the rich wood tones.
Helge Sibast was a Danish furniture designer known for his exceptional craftsmanship and ability to combine sculptural elegance with functional design. Sibast Møbelfabrik, the company founded by his family, was one of Denmark’s leading producers of high-end furniture throughout the mid-century period. Collaborations with designers such as Børge Rammeskov resulted in distinctive and innovative pieces that remain highly sought after today. The set remains in well-preserved condition, with a warm patina on the rosewood frames and only minor wear consistent with age.
