Helge Sibast dining table

This very rare dining table was designed by Helge Sibast in 1964 and produced by Sibast Møbler in Denmark. Crafted in teak, the table demonstrates the refined craftsmanship and functional elegance associated with Sibast’s mid-century designs. Its proportions and construction highlight a clear modernist vocabulary, where geometric precision meets warm natural materials.

The table features an oval top with finely rounded edges, supported by two sculptural trestle-style bases composed of triangular frames. This leg construction provides both stability and a light architectural character, allowing the table to maintain a balanced and airy appearance despite its substantial size. The teak top shows a well-defined grain pattern with a rich, even tone that accentuates the organic character of the wood. The design includes an extension system, expanding from a circular 120 cm to an elongated 220 cm, making it highly adaptable for both intimate and larger gatherings.

Helge Sibast was a Danish cabinetmaker and designer known for his mastery of woodworking and his dedication to creating furniture that balanced practicality with sculptural presence.
