Ivar Ålenius Björk candlesticks
This is a large set of 14 candlesticks, model Liljan, designed by Ivar Ålenius Björk and produced by Ystad Metall in Sweden. The candlesticks are crafted in brass and include 3 glass inserts for supporting flowers.
The Liljan candlestick was originally created for the 1939 New York World’s Fair and has since become one of Ålenius Björk’s most iconic and enduring designs, recognized for its organic, sculptural form reminiscent of lily petals opening upwards.
This set is in very good condition, showing a warm patina consistent with age. It represents a rare opportunity to acquire a larger grouping of this classic Scandinavian design object, suitable both for use and for display as a sculptural arrangement.
