Information

This rare two-seat sofa, model Bo-582, was designed by the renowned Danish design duo Jørgen Kastholm and Preben Fabricius and produced by Bo-Ex in Denmark during the 1960s. Kastholm and Fabricius are celebrated for their modernist approach, merging functionalist principles with a sculptural sense of form. Their furniture is characterized by precise detailing, high-quality materials, and an architectural clarity that has made their work highly collectible and influential in the history of Scandinavian design.

The sofa features a minimalist yet robust construction with a steel frame and original black leather upholstery. Its design is both elegant and functional, emphasizing clean lines and geometric balance. The low profile and deep seat offer exceptional comfort, while the sleek frame and slim silhouette maintain a refined aesthetic. The original leather has aged beautifully, developing a subtle patina that enhances its vintage character and authenticity.

This piece was part of a modular series that included matching easy chairs, allowing for versatile seating arrangements that could adapt to both private and public interiors. The Bo-582 exemplifies the duo’s philosophy of creating furniture that is timeless, structurally pure, and uncompromising in quality.

The sofa remains in good vintage condition with minor signs of wear consistent with age and use.

Dimensions are 150 cm wide, 75 cm deep, and 67 cm high (59.1 x 29.5 x 26.4 in), with a seat height of 37 cm (14.6 in)
