AB Fröseke mirror
This large rectangular wall mirror, model Club K27, was produced by AB Nybrofabriken Fröseke in Sweden during the 1960s. While the designer remains unknown, the piece embodies the functional yet refined Scandinavian modern aesthetic typical of the era.
The frame is crafted from richly grained rosewood, exhibiting a warm reddish-brown tone accented by darker linear veining. The woodwork is finely executed with clean lines and sharply mitered corners, highlighting expert craftsmanship. A polished brass inner surround borders the mirror glass, providing a subtle metallic contrast to the organic warmth of the rosewood. This brass detail enhances both the decorative appeal and the visual depth of the mirror.
The mirror glass is 5 mm float glass, ensuring a flat, optically accurate surface with high clarity. A construction label affixed to the back confirms the model number (Club K27), dimensions, and materials used. The mirror is in very good vintage condition, showing minor signs of age and use consistent with careful preservation.
Fröseke AB, located in southern Sweden, was a prominent mid-20th-century producer of high-quality mirrors and decorative wooden objects. The mirror measures 71 cm in width, 2 cm in depth, and 113.5 cm in height (approximately 28 by 0.8 by 44.7 inches).
