Information

This very rare loveseat sofa, model Colonial, was designed by Ole Wanscher and produced by P. Jeppesen Møbelfabrik in Denmark during the 1960s. The design reflects Wanscher’s deep appreciation for traditional craftsmanship combined with the clean lines and functional elegance of Scandinavian modernism.

The frame is crafted from solid rosewood, a prized material known for its rich color and expressive grain patterns. The structure is defined by slender, gently curved legs connected by horizontal stretchers, enhancing both stability and visual lightness. The backrest features a ladder-like design with softly curved rails, harmonizing with the organic form of the armrests.

The seat base is made from woven cane, adding both visual refinement and functional breathability. Original black leather cushions provide a striking contrast to the dark rosewood, emphasizing a balance between softness and structure. The leather has developed a natural patina over time, contributing to the piece’s authenticity and historical character.
