Information

This rare coffee table was designed by Sven Ellekær and produced by Chr. Linneberg Møbelfabrik in Denmark during the 1960s. It features a solid rosewood frame notable for its sculptural quality, supporting a rectangular glass top. The frame showcases refined organic curves typical of Danish mid-century craftsmanship, with gently tapered legs and subtly curved stretchers that create a dynamic visual structure.

The rosewood base displays a rich grain pattern highlighted by a starburst veneer detail at the center of the lower shelf, visible through the clear glass top. This combination of luxurious rosewood and transparent glass produces an effect that is both light and grounded, balancing functional use with aesthetic form.

Sven Ellekær was recognized for his elegant, sculptural furniture designs that merged organic shapes with precise craftsmanship. His work aligned closely with the Danish modernist movement, emphasizing high-quality materials and meticulous woodworking. Chr. Linneberg Møbelfabrik was known for its high-end production standards, helping to cement Scandinavian design’s international reputation.

The table remains in good vintage condition, with the rosewood frame well preserved and the glass surface showing minor signs of use consistent with age.

The dimensions are 100 cm in width, 103 cm in depth, and 46 cm in height (39.4 x 40.6 x 18.1 inches).
