Tove & Edvard Kindt-Larsen sideboard
Rare sideboard designed by Tove and Edvard Kindt-Larsen, produced by AB Seffle Möbelfabrik in Säffle, Sweden, during the 1950s. Constructed in oak with brass fittings and an orange lacquered interior, the piece exemplifies the Danish architects’ refined approach to proportion, craftsmanship, and material expression within Scandinavian mid-century furniture design.
The sideboard is composed of six drawers on the left and a double-door cabinet on the right, revealing adjustable shelves with a striking lacquered finish. The structure is elevated on a solid oak base, joined by a horizontal stretcher that emphasizes the linear silhouette. The brass handles are subtly sculpted, adding a tactile and visual contrast to the natural oak surface.
Tove and Edvard Kindt-Larsen were among the leading figures of Danish modernism, known for their architectural precision and elegant furniture for both Danish and Swedish manufacturers. The collaboration with Seffle Möbelfabrik represents a rare example of their designs produced in Sweden, distinguished by its minimal geometry and balanced functionalism.
This piece remains in good vintage condition, showing small signs of wear consistent with careful use. It has been fully restored, preserving the original finish and patina of the wood and metal details.
