Ulla Fogelklou-Skogh tray

This rare brass tray, designed by Ulla Fogelklou-Skogh and produced in the 1940s by Ystad Metall in Sweden, is an exquisite example of Scandinavian decorative art from the mid-20th century. The centerpiece of the tray’s design is a finely etched depiction of Fortuna, the Roman goddess of fortune and fate, portrayed with classical grace and surrounded by symbolic elements such as the wheel of fortune and laurel motifs. These engraved details are rendered with delicate precision, highlighting Andersson’s skill in metal engraving and lending the tray a narrative, almost mythological character.
