Information

This rare circular wall mirror was designed by Uno and Östen Kristiansson and produced by Luxus in Vittsjö, Sweden, during the 1950s. The frame is crafted from solid walnut, exhibiting a rich, warm tone and finely articulated wood grain. The mirror features a thick profile with precise joinery, notably visible in the dovetail connections at the top and bottom sections of the frame. The inner edge is subtly recessed, providing a clean visual separation between the mirror glass and the wooden surround.

Uno and Östen Kristiansson were prominent figures in mid-century Swedish design, known for their lighting, furniture, and decorative arts created through the family-run firm Luxus, established in 1950. Their work reflects Scandinavian modernist ideals, emphasizing material sensitivity, craftsmanship, and clarity of form. This mirror exemplifies their design approach through its high-quality hardwood and fine finishing.

The back of the mirror retains the original Luxus label, confirming its provenance. The piece is in very good condition with minor surface wear on the wood. The original mirror glass and mounting hardware are intact.

Dimensions measure 56 cm in diameter and 5 cm in depth, approximately 22 inches wide and 2 inches deep.
