Wall lamps
This pair of wall lamps was produced by Falkenbergs Belysnings AB in Sweden during the 1970s and is made entirely of polished brass. The design features a central cylindrical shade flanked by two symmetrically curved side panels, creating a sculptural and architectural appearance. The curved elements act as light reflectors, allowing the lamp to cast both direct and indirect light, resulting in an elegant interplay of light and shadow on the wall.
The lamps are crafted from solid brass, which has developed a warm natural patina over time, enhancing their character and visual depth. The surface shows minor wear and small marks consistent with age and careful use, contributing to their authentic vintage expression. The combination of reflective brass and the layered construction produces a soft, warm glow, emphasizing the material’s golden tone.
Falkenbergs Belysnings AB was a Swedish lighting manufacturer known for its high-quality metalwork and its focus on functional yet stylish lighting solutions during the mid-20th century. Many of their designs captured the Scandinavian modernist approach, combining simplicity, geometric clarity, and an emphasis on materials. This model reflects the Scandinavian design language of the 1970s, where brass became a popular material for creating atmospheric and decorative lighting.
These lamps represent a refined example of mid-century Scandinavian lighting, suitable for both residential and public interiors where architectural presence and warm illumination are desired. Their sculptural form allows them to function not only as a light source but also as a decorative wall feature.
