Information

This rare set of eight dining chairs, produced by Mobilia Möbler in Sweden during the 1940s, is designed in the style of Kaare Klint. The chairs are crafted from solid walnut, a hardwood known for its rich, warm hue and fine grain. The frame features a restrained and elegant design, with square-sectioned legs and subtly rounded edges, demonstrating a strong influence from traditional Danish craftsmanship. The original leather upholstery is in a natural tan shade, which has developed a beautiful patina over time. The seats and backrests are outlined with brass rivets, adding a refined decorative element while securing the leather to the frame. The high backrest provides comfortable support, while the seat is generously padded, ensuring a comfortable dining experience.

Kaare Klint, often regarded as the father of Danish modernism, emphasized proportion, ergonomics, and meticulous craftsmanship in his designs. His work was heavily influenced by classical furniture forms, reinterpreted with modern simplicity. The design of these chairs follows his principles, blending traditional joinery techniques with understated aesthetics. This set remains in well-preserved vintage condition, with minor signs of use.

The dimensions of each chair are 50 cm in width, 53 cm in depth, and 88 cm in height (19.7 x 20.9 x 34.6 inches), with a seat height of 46 cm (18.1 inches).
