Bergboms floor lamps
This pair of floor lamps, model G-025, was produced by Bergboms in Sweden during the 1950s, a period that defined the essence of Scandinavian mid-century lighting design. Bergboms was one of the most respected Swedish lighting manufacturers of the time, known for its refined modernist aesthetics and high-quality craftsmanship. Their designs often combined functional simplicity with elegant proportions, and this model is a prime example of that approach.
The lamps are crafted entirely in brass, giving them a warm, sophisticated character that develops a natural patina over time. The slender vertical stem rises from a beautifully shaped circular base with a subtle trumpet-like flare, a hallmark of 1950s Nordic lighting design that emphasizes balance and visual lightness. The clean, minimal structure allows the material itself to stand out, while the warm metallic tone enhances the ambient light and complements a wide range of interior settings.
Although originally supplied with fabric lampshades, this pair is sold without shades, offering the opportunity to customize them to a specific interior aesthetic. Despite their understated appearance, the lamps embody a thoughtful design philosophy rooted in the Scandinavian tradition: they are functional yet sculptural, discreet yet elegant.
The lamps are in good vintage condition with small signs of use, consistent with their age, and retain their original patina. They serve as excellent examples of mid-century Swedish lighting design and reflect the timeless quality of Bergboms’ production.
