Carl Fagerlund ceiling lamps
This is a pair of ceiling lamps designed by Carl Fagerlund and produced by Orrefors in Sweden during the 1960s. Each lamp features a brass frame with six radiating arms for candles, forming an elegant star-like configuration. The central structure supports vertical glass panels, each composed of oval, textured glass elements that create a shimmering effect when lit. The glass is thick and precisely molded, demonstrating the high-quality craftsmanship characteristic of Orrefors production.
The brass frame retains its original warm patina, with minor surface wear that is consistent with age and use. The overall condition is good, with all glass elements intact, and the lamps present a refined yet bold presence suitable for both private and public interiors.
Carl Fagerlund, known for his collaborations with Orrefors, specialized in lighting designs that combined glass artistry with functional modernism. These lamps are an excellent representation of his work, balancing decorative appeal with a restrained Scandinavian sensibility. The use of clear textured glass allows the light to diffuse softly, creating a warm and atmospheric glow.
These ceiling lamps are ideal for dining rooms, living spaces, or large entryways, where their sculptural form and sparkling glass can be appreciated from multiple angles.
