Information

These wall lamps are the model Bumling, designed by Anders Pehrson and produced by Ateljé Lyktan in Åhus, Sweden, during the 1960s. The lamps are made of aluminum and finished in a polished metallic surface, giving them a sleek, modern appearance. Each lamp features the characteristic Bumling form, a cylindrical shade with a wide opening and an interior fitted with concentric reflectors to create a soft, diffused light. The shades are mounted on flexible gooseneck arms, allowing for directional adjustment and making them suitable as reading or accent lights.

The aluminum surfaces show minor signs of age and use, including small scratches and patina, but remain in good overall condition. The construction is robust, and the lamps retain their original fittings and wiring, contributing to their authenticity.

Anders Pehrson (1912–1982) became artistic director and later owner of Ateljé Lyktan, where he helped shape the company into a leading Scandinavian lighting manufacturer. The Bumling series, introduced in 1968, became one of Pehrson’s most recognized designs and a symbol of Swedish modern lighting. Its playful yet functional design allowed it to be produced in multiple sizes and colors for a variety of applications.

These lamps exemplify the Scandinavian mid-century approach, combining functionality, material honesty, and a refined aesthetic. Each lamp measures 20 cm in width, 30 cm in depth, and 25 cm in height, corresponding to approximately 7.9 x 11.8 x 9.8 inches.
