Information

This rare cabinet, model Facett, was designed by Swedish furniture designer Bertil Fridhagen and produced by Bodafors in Sweden during the 1960s. Executed in rich mahogany with a beech base, the piece exemplifies the refined craftsmanship and material quality characteristic of mid-20th-century Scandinavian cabinetmaking. Fridhagen, known for his elegant and functional furniture, often combined subtle detailing with a restrained aesthetic, and the Facett cabinet is a clear example of his design philosophy.

The cabinet features four paneled doors with sculptural integrated handles, creating a rhythmic verticality and a distinctive handcrafted feel. The doors conceal spacious storage compartments, typical of Fridhagen’s focus on both aesthetics and functionality. The warm mahogany surface has developed a beautiful patina over time, and the craftsmanship is further emphasized by the clean joinery and precise proportions.

Produced by Bodafors, one of Sweden’s most respected furniture manufacturers, the piece reflects the company’s dedication to high-quality production and timeless design. Its minimalist form and sculpted details place it firmly within the Scandinavian modern tradition, where functionality, craftsmanship, and material integrity are central values.

The cabinet remains in good vintage condition, showing small signs of use and an attractive aged character.
Dimensions are 118 cm wide, 43.5 cm deep, and 155 cm high (46.5 x 17.1 x 61 in)
