Arne Hovmand-Olsen sofa

This rare sofa, model 480, was designed by the Danish architect and designer Arne Hovmand-Olsen in 1956 and produced by Alf. Juul Rasmussens polstermøbelfabrik in Denmark. Hovmand-Olsen is known for his sculptural approach to seating furniture, often combining modernist clarity with organic silhouettes, and this model is a strong example of his mid-century output.

The sofa is constructed in oak and teak, with subtle brass details that enhance its refined character. The frame features sharply angled, outward-leaning legs and armrests that emphasize both stability and lightness, reflecting the Scandinavian commitment to functionality and elegance.
