Information

This coffee table, model AT-10, was designed by Hans J. Wegner and produced by Andreas Tuck in Denmark during the 1950s. The table features a long, rectangular top with softly rounded corners and a gently raised edge profile, supported by a solid wood frame. Beneath the tabletop, a woven cane shelf spans the length of the table, providing both visual lightness and functional storage. The overall construction emphasizes clarity of structure and balanced proportions, characteristic of Wegner’s furniture designs from this period.

The table is crafted from teak and oak, with the tabletop executed in teak, displaying a deep brown tone with rich, linear grain patterns. The frame and legs are made from oak, stained to harmonize with the teak surface while maintaining subtle material contrast. The woven cane shelf introduces a lighter, tactile element, creating interplay between solid and woven surfaces. The joinery is precise and understated, allowing the materials and construction to define the visual expression.

Hans J. Wegner is regarded as one of the central figures of Danish modern design, known for his rigorous exploration of form, structure, and craftsmanship. While he is most widely associated with chair design, his tables and storage pieces reflect the same disciplined approach to proportion and material logic. Model AT-10 exemplifies his ability to combine functional requirements with refined detailing, resulting in furniture intended for everyday use while maintaining architectural presence.

The table was produced by Andreas Tuck, a Danish cabinetmaker and manufacturer closely associated with Wegner throughout the 1950s and 1960s. Andreas Tuck was known for high-quality craftsmanship and for executing Wegner’s designs with careful attention to material selection and finishing. Furniture from this collaboration is considered representative of the peak of Danish mid-century cabinetmaking.

The table is in good vintage condition and has been completely restored. The wood surfaces have been carefully refinished, preserving the original character and grain while ensuring structural integrity and usability. The cane shelf is intact and evenly tensioned, consistent with professional restoration standards.

The dimensions are 160.5 cm in width, 50.5 cm in depth, and 50 cm in height, which corresponds to approximately 63.2 inches wide, 19.9 inches deep, and 19.7 inches high.
