Information

This very rare set of nesting tables was designed by Kurt Østervig and produced by Jason Møbler in Denmark during the 1960s. Crafted from solid rosewood, the tables exhibit a refined grain pattern and rich natural tones. The design features slender, tapered legs and softly curved edges, emphasizing the craftsmanship and elegant proportions characteristic of Østervig’s work.

The set includes three tables that can be neatly nested together or used separately. The largest table is distinguished by a raised lip along its back edge, offering both functional utility and aesthetic appeal. The tables are in well-preserved condition, showing minor wear consistent with age and use. The rosewood surfaces retain their original luster, and the precise joinery reflects the high quality associated with Danish mid-century furniture.

Kurt Østervig was a notable Danish designer recognized for his functional yet sculptural approach to furniture design. His work often incorporated organic influences balanced with a rigorous sense of proportion and refinement. Jason Møbler was known for producing furniture that combined timeless design with expert craftsmanship.

This nesting table set exemplifies Scandinavian modernism principles, where versatility, material excellence, and simplicity define the aesthetic. The ability to arrange the tables in various configurations enhances their practicality, making them both functional pieces and collectible examples of Danish design from the era.

The largest table measures 80 centimeters in width, 36 centimeters in depth, and 50.5 centimeters in height (31.5 x 14.2 x 19.9 inches).
